Getting a feel for the site
A playtest follows the everyday experience of finding your way around and playing. We focus on four areas.
- Getting started
- Signup and the first steps into the site, when we create the account ourselves.
- Games & gameplay
- Browsing the lobby, exploring the game options and trying a selection of games. We look at loading, responsiveness and how smoothly play works.
- Desktop & mobile
- Navigation, readability, ease of use and everyday site speed. How does the experience feel once you are logged in?
- Promotions & rewards
- How offers and rewards are presented, how easy they are to find, and how clearly the site explains what you need to do to use them.
The badge reflects that experience at the time of testing. Our review methodology explains the wider research and information that may also appear in a casino review.
How we decide
We look for games that work consistently during our sessions, straightforward navigation across desktop and mobile, and promotions and rewards that are reasonably easy to understand. We weigh the experience as a whole, including any friction we encounter.
After completing the playtest and recording our findings, we decide whether the experience is one we are comfortable recommending. That decision determines whether we offer the Playtested badge. Taking part alone does not earn it.

We use the site within the scope above. We may get in touch about access or factual details, and you are welcome to ask about the process.
We share the review
We update the casino’s GoodSweeps review with our findings and send you the finished page. You can flag factual errors or information that needs updating.
We offer a badge
If the results qualify, we send the badge files and the link to your review. Displaying the badge is optional. Reviews and badge offers do not depend on displaying or linking to GoodSweeps.
When you choose to display it
Use the supplied artwork for the casino it was offered to and keep it readable. We recommend linking it to that casino’s GoodSweeps review so readers can find the matching badge and test details. The review remains the source for its current status.
Sites that earn the badge get access to our badge builder to customize its design and layout, while keeping the GoodSweeps logo and Playtested wording unchanged.
Independent throughout
Our conclusions and badge decisions are ours. Any operator-provided test access or in-game currency is explained in the review. Choosing to display a badge does not influence our assessment.

Playtested is the badge we currently offer. We may introduce additional badges, such as Verified, Trusted, Preferred or Recommended. Any additional badge will have its own meaning and criteria, explained on this page before it is offered.
